The word given to passing Mother

Tiny room. There bed. In bed: mother in terminal state of cancer. There’s nothing anyone can do, except for pain relief. Next to the bed: wheelchair, there – 34-year-old daughter. Mentally – a girl, still playing with teddy bears. She has a cerebral palsy, she is also paralyzed after a stroke. Ewa and Kinga – mother and daughter, two KTOŚ charges. Before Ewa passed away we had promised her we will take care of Kinga, her rehabilitation, will support her dad and help whole family to deal with grief and reorganize the world.

So we act. Which need is the most urgent? Constant and intensive rehabilitation.

As the result of postoperative complications after brain tumor surgery, half of her body was paralyzed. Kinga also struggles with post-stroke spasticity, which manifests itself in the fact that her contracted muscles prevent the full range of movements and cause pain. Exercises, massages, elements of reflexology – all of this helps and soothes tense muscles. Rehabilitation reimbursed by National Health Fund  is a drop in a bucket. An hour of home-rehabilitation costs 80 PLN. This sum goes far beyond family’s financial capacity. Together we can do so much! Little gestures are important!❤
